What is Stancio?

Stancio is a small, European-flavoured social experiment in anonymous conversation and collective mood.

A digital town square, not a profile factory

Stancio is an anonymous social space built around short-lived rooms and a live consensus map. You do not create a profile, you do not collect followers, and you are not optimising a personal brand. You simply drop into a room, watch the collective mood move, and, if you want, add your own voice.

  • No identity: no usernames to defend across the internet.
  • No feeds, no algorithm: you choose a room instead of being pulled into an infinite scroll.
  • No advertising: no engagement hacks, no tracking.
  • No follower counts: conversations, not audiences.

How a room works

Rooms are small, temporary spaces around a single question or topic. When you join, you receive a random pseudonym like “Blue Sparrow” or “Quiet Pine”. You can first spectate – read the chat and see the consensus map update – and only later choose to participate.

  1. Pick a topic from the home page or create your own.
  2. Enter as a spectator and watch messages and the map in real time.
  3. Click “Join room” to get a pseudonym and start posting.
  4. When the room goes quiet, it eventually disappears.

The consensus map

Every message carries a simple mood and stance. The map places the conversation into a two‑dimensional space:

  • Horizontal axis: agreement ↔ disagreement.
  • Vertical axis: calm ↔ heated; neutral ↔ curious ↔ positive ↔ negative.

Instead of scrolling through hundreds of takes, you can see at a glance where the room is leaning, where tension builds, and whether curiosity is still alive.
